Stone Caravan News
January 28, 2010
Hey folks, last-minute reminder that we have
three CD release shows for "Down Here By The
River" tomorrow and Saturday (January 29th and
January 30th) at The Turning Point in Piermont,
NY. This is our "home turf" and where we
recorded "One More Song Live". If you haven't
been there yet, this weekend would be a good
time to change that! They now have a good
Mexican restaurant upstairs. Can someone say
margaritas?
We have three great opening artists at this
weekend's shows:
January 29 at 9pm - Over The Line - cool
acoustic duo coming in from the other side of
the mighty Hudson River.
January 30 at 7:30pm - Tyrone Shoelaces -
this is our old friend Chuck Chesler's solo
music project. Chuck will be sitting in on
piano, organ and accordion with Stone Caravan on
all three shows as he played on many tracks from
"Down Here By The River".
January 30 at 10:00pm - Tim O'Donohue - one
of Rockland County's cornerstones in the
acoustic music scene who has a great CD out, "A
Little Bit Of Alright".
Please go to
www.turningpointcafe.com to reserve seats or
call 845-359-1089 to get your tickets. It will
be a great weekend.
I had a blast meeting lots of new folks up at
The Town Crier in Pawling and The Linda in
Albany last weekend as I supported my dear
friend Willie Nile for a few shows. The crowds,
venues, presenters and Willie were all great!
:-)
More info on shows in Pittsburgh, Buffalo,
Niagara Falls, Toronto, Warwick, Lakewood,
Asbury Park, Milwaukee, Ringwood, Europe in May
and other stuff to follow in next month's
emailer...
Thanks, as always, to everyone who has picked
up a copy of "Down Here By The River". Also
thanks to lots of you who emailed me your
"reviews" of the CD, fun to read! THANKS!
All the best,
Joe D
PS - The radio shows with Dave Marsh and Joey
Reynolds went great and I got to meet the
Amazing Kreskin on Joey's show. Now that was
cool!
Singing "The River" in front of Marsh was a
little nerve wrecking as he must have seen Bruce
sing that song a thousand times!
We are rescheduling our appearance on Rich
Russo's "Anything Anything" radio show on 101.9
and will let you know soon about that...
For those of you who tuned in on January 17th
to hear me on Bruce Brunch on The Hawk 105.7FM,
my apologies for not being there. Light of Day
kicked my butt his year and I slept right
through my interview/on air time. There's always
a first for everything!
